The beginning... Empty
PostSubject: The beginning...    The beginning... EmptyFri Aug 05, 2011 1:46 am

Something had changed. He had originally thought that his hands no longer had strength and his sword had dulled. In truth his sword had merely lost purpose, before now it's goal was to exact revenge upon the world for the wrongs it had done to him. But with recent events the swords purpose seemed to be unneeded. It was a strange thing for him who had only known comfort in suffering and death. What he felt was unexplored soil, completely alien to him. He wanted to remove these thoughts and feelings but doing so was difficult. So he went in search of answers. His search took him to a small settlement in a far off district of Rukongai, where he met 'her.'

The Demon King crossed paths with The Doe, a thief who was rumored to have such immense skill that she could pilfer anything from the pockets of any man. Or raid any item from the vault of any noble. She was also whispered to watch over the settlement as a guardian, an icon to the people living under her watch. The Demon's simple question was: "Why?" Why look after these people? The way The Demon saw it the people in that settlement would have traded The Doe's life if it meant they would be spared. Confronted with this knowledge The Doe was unwavered and a battle ensued.

The battle raged! The Demon fought with his beliefs that all people were evil and were not to be trusted. He couldnt understand why The Doe fought to protect. Many blows were struck and both sides seemed equally matched. But somehow The Doe came out on top. The Demon fled in shame. Never before had he been bested in combat, he was humiliated. But even though his question had not been answered something was proven very clearly to him.

One's beliefs were what made a person strong. If The Doe's beliefs helped her win agains the almighty Demon King then maybe Artix was wrong.

So now here he was under the morning sun, sitting against the godly high walls of the seireitei. It wasn't unusual for him to venture this close to the home of the shinigami, but he rarely stayed there for this long. On this occassion he had been waiting outside the gates for atleast two days. Waiting for the cause of this mess. This was the gate closest to the place he and The Boy had met and Artix hoped to catch him as he came out.

He wore a hood so that any shinigami or civilians who might recognise him didnt see his face. If The Boy didnt show up within the next two days Artix would move to the next gate and then the next and continue. He wouldnt stop until he had the answer he was looking for. Why did he have hope?

It had been a long while since Sovay had been able to leave the Seritei. There had been the business with her newest family member. She still hadn't decided on a name for him actually, that was another thing to add to the list of things she had to complete. But she was due to enter the shinigami school in two days time, and she had taken the chance for escape as soon as her mind had flitted to the idea of it. It would be risky, seeing as her new brother followed her around like a lost puppy, but it just so happened that the medical unit was finally taking a look at him, and she knew for a fact that it would last a couple hours.

She did feel a tiny twinge of guilt as she donned her grubby costume for having to sneak around her new friend, but at the same time she was rather interested in another subject. News of a great battle between The Doe, and the Demon King had passed her ears, and she was rather interested on the outcome, seeing as she had met both upon occasion, the Doe being a trusted friend of Sovay's. Another fact that she could not lie about was how interested she was in finding out if Artix was alright. She even dared to wonder if he had been looking for her.

A silly thought, she knew that, but still the question tugged at her brain until climbing over the family wall was inevitable. And then it was only a matter of time until a shinigami found her and kicked her out of the seritei. She appeared to be a filthy street rat after all. The plan was flawless, seeing as the wall lifted up for her upon return as well. It was impossible to lie to a wall, it knew a person's standing, and rank rather well.

No one had ever followed her back to the Seritei either. Sure, she had sometimes gotten a rather pesky tail, but it was easy to lose them by entering a friend's house. Sometimes it had come rather close, but she was confident that no one had ever found her. That was why she almost did not notice the rather large figure sitting against the wall. Of course she subconsciously categorized his hood, and appearance, but she was already a good ten feet away before she turned about and walked back. There was only one person she knew with energy so large.

"Hello Demon King!" she said rather happily.

The beginning... Empty
PostSubject: Re: The beginning...    The beginning... EmptyFri Aug 05, 2011 9:34 pm

For the past few hours Artix had been incredibly bored, entertaining himself by drawing random symbols in the dirt with his finger. An hourglass, a cross, an eye. As he was no artist the symbols looked primitive and slightly tribal, lacking detail and complexity. His final symbol was two linked rings. He stared at this one for a moment before the growling of the stone and rumbling of the earth as the gate opened alerted him. He stood to his feet, ready to walk away should a guard decide to pick a fight. Instead a young boy was thrown out by the arm. A boy with a cap and white hair. Eon.

Artix watched the boy walk for a moment, trying to figure out why a noble would be thrown out of the seireitei. Then he realised that Eon wasn't dressed as a noble and Artix had taken him to be a regular street urchin the first time they had met. Clever. He wasn't allowed outside the gates so he dressed up in rags in order to look like he didnt belong in the seireitei, it was only a matter of time before the guards mistook him for filth and threw him out. Artix would have considered it cunning if it werent for the fact that getting back in would be incredibly difficult. Maybe he had a change of clothing hidden somewhere on his person, or was wearing his formal attire underneath.

Without a further thought he stepped over the dirt drawing he had made and swiftly approached Eon. Artix ignored the boy's friendly 'hello' and forcefully grabbed his upper arm. Artix was much bigger and far stronger than the scrawny little kid so if he tried to resist there wouldn't be much of a struggle. Of course that little knife Eon had might have been a problem so he made sure to keep the young noble ahead of him, pushing him, forcing his smaller leg's to move faster than Artix's long steady strides. Artix would drag the kid if he had to, he wanted answers. The towns folk watched blankly, but to them two badly dressed and unkept slummie's werent worth thinking about and they quickly moved on. Such was the nature of human's. As he noticed this Artix growled in his throat, how could he have hope for such a pathetic selfish creatures?

Artix herded Eon away from the gate, past the spot where he had been sitting and doodling a moment before and into a less crowded part of town, the alley ways. This particular districts alley's werent as tight or grimy as where Artix came from so they didnt provide much cover from prying eye's and ears. Unable to control his frustration Artix shoved Eon into the dead end of the alley, releasing his grip. For a moment he simply stared at the boy, his face blank but his eye's still flashing the emotions he tried to hide; sorrow, anger, hate. But something was different, this time he had a small shred of hope. An emotion he hadn't felt for hundreds of years.

He looked the boy up and down. He looked weak. He looked naive. He looked completely oblivious to what went on beyond the higher districts. Yet somehow this tiny little child had managed to mentally beat The Demon King. It was laughable. Artix felt humiliated. Yet he couldnt bring himself to harm Eon. Artix's eyebrows crossed as his frustration overwhelmed him, he growled again. Suddenly he turned away to check that nobody had followed them. What Artix was doing was extremely dangerous, he was abducting a noble directly in the front garden of the shinigami. He came back.

His emerald green eye's drilled into Eon's. Artix hated this boy. He hated the fact that Eon had destroyed everything Artix believed in a matter of seconds and hadn't even used physical force. Hate. Hate. Hate. Artix was a feral beast, formed from hatred and though Eon hadn't tamed him he had managed to put a muzzle around his jaws. And all of this resentment was simply because Artix didnt know why. If one looked at this from the outside they would see that it wasn't Eon that Artix hated and instead say that he despised not knowing why he felt this small glimmer of hope whenever he thought about the boy's acts of kindness towards him.

"Why were you so kind to me?" Finally Artix found the sense to form words in a dep gruff voice. "I was ready to kill you but instead of thinking about yourself you thought about my well being. How is that possible?"

Most, if not all people would have called Sovay stupid to be happy to see Artix again. Most people would run away as fast as they could at the sight of him. Fortunately for Artix, Sovay was far too stubborn, a little too trusting. She smiled brightly at him, and hardly protested when he grabbed her and started pushing her along. It was a bit difficult, but she was able to move in a rhythm that matched his. It was ridiculous to look at, she suspected. In all appearances they must look like a little boy trying to juggle his feet, followed by a lion tamer with many scars. She sighed at her circumstances. She had been planning to visit an old friend today, but apparently that was not going to happen, so she just went with it.

She was very aware of Artix pushing her along, but she knew not why he had waited for her. She only felt happiness at the fact. Maybe he wanted to be her friend, or maybe it was something else, but she had affected him in some way. As he released her, she stumbled onto the ground from the force, but managed to catch herself lightly with her hands and use the pressure created to flip back up onto her feet. It was a simple move really, and Sovay thought nothing of it. However, she was a little annoyed to be treated so roughly. No matter what she wore, or what guise she became, she was still a noble of the first house, and therefore a lady. It was not easy to forget one's upbringing after all.

Sovay looked sharply up into the giant's eyes, ready to chagrin him for the annoyance he had caused her, but stopped short when she saw his eyes. He looked a little lost, and upset because of it. A bit like a cornered animal. Her eyes softened, realizing the emotion, and instead of doing or saying anything, she sat down on the dirty floor, paying no mind to the state of her clothes. In fact, a few of her long white hairs had escaped from under her cap, but this didn't bother her either. A lot of young noble boys had long hair right up until they were one hundred and fifty. It didn't matter that she was a lot older than that, because that's why her disguise worked.

As she sat cross-legged against the wall, she felt Artix's eyes boring into her, so she turned her head to steadily meet his gaze. it was unnatural for one to stare so openly in the court, but she found she rather liked it. Girls were always being told to keep their heads down, and to not stare but out here she was a young boy named Eon, and she would look at anything for as long as she pleased. She stared into Artix's eyes, seeing the p[ain in them, the complete sorrow. The emotion felt very mismatched with the hate that seemed to be radiating in waves off of him now. Finally, Sovay felt a bit uncomfortable and shifted her body, breaking the eye contact.

Instead, she stared resolutely at the opposite wall and waited for Artix to speak. She didn't know why he had searched her out, but realized he was very intelligent to be able to find her so easily when no one had found her actual home for over one hundred years. Maybe it was because she had never caused anyone to mistrust her, or maybe it was because she had never caused such a change in character before, but whatever it was she had done, Artix seemed to be very upset with her. She understood why they called him the demon king. Carefully, she looked up at him again, noticing some newer scars adorning his body, but happy that he was okay. She almost blushed at the thought. Why should she care if he was healthy or not?

Finally, he spoke, pulling her swiftly out of her reverie. She was startled at his words, completely surprised that would be his question. The answer flew from her lips before she could check it, so it came honestly. "why do you think my life is worth anymore than your's?"

The beginning... Empty
PostSubject: Re: The beginning...    The beginning... EmptySun Aug 07, 2011 9:00 pm

Eon answered Artix's question with one of his own. He frowned and growled loudly to show his displeasure. Why would nobody every be direct with what they said? He asked The Doe a simple question "Why do you protect these people?" and she gave an answer that brought Artix no closer to what he wanted. Now Eon was doing exactly the same damn thing! Maybe he was spinning his noble tongue over his words and hiding what he truly meant. Artix wasn't smart enough to figure out that crap on the fly, unlike Eon Artix hadn't been educated under noble watch. In fact he hadn't been educated at all, that's what happens when you grow up in the lower districts of Rukongai, you dont recieve the privilige of things like Schooling because your too busy trying to survive! Damned nobles!

It just caused Artix's anger to rise like a bubbling froth in a couldren, keep on adding water and it's going to overflow. The large man restrained himself like he had never done before, literally. Before now Artix had never hesitated to punch somebody who pissed him off. He knew that if he harmed Eon in any way he either wouldnt survive or he would go back to his noble family, bleeding all over the place. If that happened they would hunt Artix down for sure. He took a deep breath and lowered the hood surrounding his head.

His most recently obtained scar was from The Doe herself, she had launched a swift attack that ended up slicing Artix's forehead. Under the cowl it couldn't be seen but without it the wound appeared fresh and was still open. The Doe's blade had sliced from above Artix's eyebrow to the middle of his forehead. If the blood kept rushing to Artix's head due to his rage it may begin to bleed again.

"I'm going to ask again Eon." Artix's voice was low and threatening. "Your going to answer me directly." He was forceful too.

"Anybody else in your situation would have traded anything in the world so that they could live. They wouldn't have wanted to give me anything but in order to save themselves they would have. So why would you not only give me what I wanted but also worry about my well being?" Artix hated having to use so many words at once. He was used to just saying nothing at all, speaking like this was strange especially since he was spelling out something so simple to a noble.

Artix couldnt fathom it. Eon wasn't just any old boy from the street he was a noble. From a noble's point of view Artix wasn't worth spit and neither would a single piece of bread. Any other noble would give him the bread, walk away and have enough money to buy dozens of banquets worth of food. But Eon made sure that Artix was ok afterwards. It made no sense.

The beginning... Empty
PostSubject: Re: The beginning...    The beginning... EmptyThu Aug 11, 2011 2:08 am

Truthfully, Sovay hadn't been thinking about her own life when in the clutches of Artix. She had only seen his feral pain, and had wanted to comfort it. She knew what the term was, it was called empathy. She had felt empathy, and so she had acted upon it. It was a classic chemical reaction. Artix was treating the situation as if a chemical reaction was bad. he almost reminded her of her father, when he was teaching Sovay that emotion was just a silly, chemical reaction and could therefore be contained. He trained her to reign in her pain, terror, and hate, and so she had. He had taught her to look at things scientifically, and so she had. She had only ever done as her father asked. And now Artix was forcing her, just as her father had. Frankly, she was just about done with being pushed around by Artix. She had to take it from her father, but Artix was a whole different story.

Sovay was starting to get annoyed him. It wasn't really fair that Artix was angry with her, because she had only done a good dead. It seemed that he was always pissed off and angry. And he was making her even more upset because he was bringing out a completely different character in her! She wasn't the type to get pissed off for no reason, but it felt as if ever since she had met with him today, his anger was pushing at her from all sides, and that can become really painful for the emotions after a certain amount of time. She tried taking a deep breath, shutting her eyes and counting to ten, and even staring at something other than Artix. But when it really came down to it, he was being completely unfair.

It was almost as if he expected every single person he came across was a piece of scum to be wiped off of his shoe. Frankly, Sovay did feel hurt and upset by it. Maybe she was a part of humanity, or maybe she hadn't even become apart of it yet, after all, she had never been human, only a spirit. But she liked to think that she was better than his expectations. She liked to believe that people were good. And it was as if Artix had a major problem with that. He went around calling everyone scum, but whenever someone did something good it made him angry. That's why Sovay's voice was a tiny bit testy when she replied with, "Not everyone is a piece of scum Artix, oh great Demon King. some people actually care about other's well being."

The words she had said only continued to make her want to blow up, so with difficulty, she continued, "You search for scum, but you act as if goodness is fairy tale. For a King, you're a bit dense." Her fists were clenched, and her back was ramrod straight against the roll. She really was angry. She tried her best, all her life to do what she thought a human being would do. She was probably one of the only good nobles out there after all, but all he had ever done was attack her, drag her around, and be plain nasty. "Frankly," she added, "I think you could probably learn some humanity from a spirit." The last word, spirit, was said rather forcefully, as if she was ashamed of what she was. But it wasn't that she was ashamed, it was more like embarrassed. She often felt like a child, blundering along blindly, while her friends talked of the human world, a place she had yet to see for herself.

She stood up then, dusting herself off. She did not however, reach for her knife in her boot, or pull in a deep breath for a scream. She only stood and glared at Artix with a steely eyed glare. "Besides Artix," she said, finally answering his real question, "Even idiots like you need bread. Every person, be they idiot, citizen, or noble deserves to have a chance at life, I was only trying to help you with your struggle." After a moment of contemplation, she added, "A simple thank-you will suffice."

The beginning... Empty
PostSubject: Re: The beginning...    The beginning... EmptyThu Aug 11, 2011 3:53 am

It was steadily becoming more and more difficult to hold himself back from taking Eon's head clean off. Artix could already see the blood splattering over the alley walls. It was almost as if sparks were flying between him and Eon as both angers rose. It was commendable for Eon to be provoking an opponent bigger and stronger than himself though, Artix felt a certain amount of respect for the fact that Eon was dutifully defending his own views. His rage had far outshadowed that respect however. Eon's snide remarks and insufferable babbling was adding fuel to the already roaring blaze. Artix breathed heavily in order to contain himself. He wanted to hurt Eon, but he wanted to live even more. The untamed power Artix held burned his reiatsu.

It wasn't until he stood up and truly adressed his question did Eon's words truly sink in. It was as Artix feared and in most cases hoped. He couldn't fight what was so painfully obvious any longer. Artix took the rest of the boy's scorn as his expression gradually faded from rage to nuetrality. He stared blankly at the floor, his mouth slightly agape. His pride refused to let go of the fact that a weedy little noble boy had just insulted him however.

But he had finally seen it. He had seen that there were good people out there, people who would go out of their way to help a stranger. But Artix couldn't help but feel where that left him. He had lived his entire known existance believing kindness to be a fake act, used to disguise selfishness. He had hurt many people in that time. Whether they were innocent or not Artix's beliefs prevented him from caring. Was this the day the demon king retreated into the shadows, never to return? To run away and contemplate what had been done until his dying day? All he could so was talk his mind...

"I've existed for over five hundred years" He began with a gruff low tone. He was ashamed. "For all those year's I did indeed think that goodness was nothing but a fairy tale. Until now." He muttered these words as he stepped aside, allowing Eon to leave the alleyway as he pleased. That small amount of pride refused to allow Artix to say thank you. But no doubt his words and his tone of voice would have suggested how sorry he was.

What he would do now he didn't know. Fade into the anals of history and die maybe? He backed into one of the walls and slid down to sit on the ground. As far as he was concerned Eon had already left. After portraying such anger and knowing Artix's history it was only right to leave such a man behind to rot. He might even be doing the world a favor. One of his "Good deeds."

The beginning... Empty
PostSubject: Re: The beginning...    The beginning... EmptyFri Aug 12, 2011 1:20 am

Sovay felt herself calming a bit, and by the time she had completely, she felt altogether terrible about the way she had acted. Not only was that not the emotional outburst befitting a noble, but Artix, no matter what he did or said, did not deserve to be called names. It was further proof that she was not ready for becoming the head of her household. She had been stupid as well to poke at Artix, with his obvious anger problem, and the fact that he was incredibly powerful. In perspective, she really was just an immature child, and in no way ready for anything. She still had so much to learn. But on the other hand, she was already far past the learning stage, and was considered an adult. She had to present herself as one if she wanted to get anywhere in life. Sovay was just about to formerly apologize, when Artix did the strangest, and most unexpected thing.

He stepped aside, allowing her exit, and he did not shout at her in anger, the way she had expected him to. He only seemed ashamed himself, making Sovay completely melt in forgiveness, and in humiliation for her childish antics. Instead of walking away like any sane person might have, Sovay leaned against the other wall, and slid down to rest on her butt in the dirt, across from the confused Demon King of the Rukongei. She must have been the first to manage such a feat in a long time. She stared contemplatively at Artix, a rather crazy idea forming in her head.

She was to enter the academy in two days time, and because her studies would take up her time, she would probably never see Artix again. But that idea dissatisfied her because Artix was intriguing and powerful. She had already been able to calm him down a little, what if she could tame the wild beast inside him, so that he might be able to enter the academy? He would be able to eat whatever he wanted in there, and he would be able to fight and train for as long as he wanted. It would be paradise for a man such as him. She stared, looking him up and down, and wondered if he would be even interested.

He seemed confused right now, if she caught him right now, she just might be able to get him to become a shinigami. He was in deep contemplation, not looking angry for once in his life, and Sovay found herself wondering what had made Artix think that way. He had a long life apparently, of course he didn't look a day older than seventeen or so. A lot might have happened in that time. Sovay was only half his age, and she was only considered a child who had just become an adult. In human age, she was equivalent to a sixteen year old girl, at least in body physicality. And girls around her age did begin to start to feel those urges. Suddenly, she looked down, and blushed. "look, I'm sorry for calling you an idiot okay?" she reflected for a moment and corrected herself, "Okay, mostly sorry. You're still a bit of an idiot."

She smiled warmly. She would have to pitch this idea well or he might lose interest. Unfortunately, she was a terrible pitcher, and more of the blunt type. So although she planned carefully what she should say, it ended up coming out more like, "Do you wanna become a shinigami with me?" she stared at him expectantly, her amber eyes gleaming with excitement at the idea. She seemed to be begging him with her eyes, and the affect was like a sad puppy dog, starving and begging for nourishment.

The beginning... Empty
PostSubject: Re: The beginning...    The beginning... EmptyFri Aug 12, 2011 11:35 pm

Over time one became immune to the effects of killing another person. The nightmares fade away and the ever lasting screams quieten down. The process continues until committing the heinous act becomes as easy as snapping a twig. It was hard at first. Artix's first intentional murder left him sleepless for a week. Right now it was as if all of it were only yesterday. He saw the faces of the people he had wronged, he even remembered some whom he had ended several hundred years ago. Man and woman alike. The screams slowly returned to haunt his ears. Now that his eye's had been cleared he began to wonder what could possible have pushed him so far. Grief maybe? He knew that revenge was definetly a prime factor. He wanted revenge for all of the times that he had been wronged, those times were so many however that he didnt know where to start. Naturally he began to hate the world. And only now was he finally realising; Eon couldn't be the only one who had such kindness in his heart. That made Artix think. Which of those faces would have helped him if he had given them the chance? Probably more than he realised. So many innocent people. In the end, after hating and rampaging for half a century, Artix had become the very thing he wanted revenge against.

He began to wonder how many more like him were running around out there. People with no past, no sense of purity, being spat on by other people for reasons they couldn't control. It was foolish to think that all of them would eventually see the truth, suffering will always be present. Atleast with him out of the pictures things would be a little better. But he now had no purpose. Nothing to live for. Before now it had been his lust for revenge that had driven him forwards, now that that had been extinguished he had nothing. It occured to him that he could try to attone for his sins, but just as quickly he knew that if he did so he wouldn't be accepted. His other name had been etched into the minds of all who lived in Rukongai. The Demon King was a monster who parents would invent stories about to frighten their children into being good. Those children then grew up and quickly realised that the stories were true. Artix was an abomination in the eye's of the people.

He heard Eon's words and sighed. The boy should have left, there was no more he could do here. He gave Artix a smile, one which Artix didn't return. The large man stood slowly and sadly to his feet. Joining the court guard squads. That was something to think about and he would be joining alongside Eon, his saviour and his destruction. Yes that was the right term. Eon had saved Artix from eternal hatred, but doomed him to endless pain. But Eon wasn't the one to blame, he was only doing what his virtue's intended him to do. Artix could see where Eon was coming from; join the academy, become a shinigami officer and prove that he had changed. It might have worked, if it werent for a few problems.

"As a shinigami I could atone for my sins." Artix began as he stared out of the alley mouth and up at the huge white walls surrounding the seireitei, home of the shinigami. Artix knew nothing about the shinigami at all apart from what they looked like and what their purpose was. He didnt know anything about the way they lived, what was expected of them, what the requirements for becoming one was. But he was sure of one thing...

"But it's because of my sins that I cant do it. Shinigami are meant to protect, they'd never let in a person who has done so much harm. Thank you Eon..." He had forgotten his pride for once. "But a monster will always be seen as a monster."

The beginning... Empty
PostSubject: Re: The beginning...    The beginning... EmptySat Aug 13, 2011 3:19 am

((OOC: sorry for the short post! I have to go to bed, but I wanted to give you something!))

Sovay sat back on her heels, waiting for Artix's answer. She had a feeling that he was going to say no, and the reason would be stupid, and he would just fade away with little or no purpose now that she had somehow broken him. Or fixed him, depending on how you looked at it. Although she was sorry to see the great Demon King in such a way, at the same time she was rather proud in her accomplishment. She had brought about a complete change in Artix's character, and it was all because she was just herself. Of course Artix was most likely responsible to many crimes, and murders, but in Sovay's opinion, the past was dead. It didn't matter what you had done, or where you had come from, it was what you were going to be, and where you are going next that was important. To her, Artix appeared to be the type to go through the past, and live there instead of moving forward. She shook her head knowingly. It was always men who got themselves into these silly situations.

Sighing, she stood and dusted herself off completely. She sighed enormously in exasperation at Artix's words. Shaking her head in an annoyed matter, she relayed her thoughts to him, "You can't live in the past, Artix. Life and living is for those alive and present. It doesn't pay to muddle around in the mud of the past." Of course he was right however. How was he going to get into the prestigious academy? Everyone knew him as the Demon King, they would laugh in his face if he asked to join. She thought of the regular manner for getting into the academy. Taking test exams to get in, or being recommended by a high noble. She looked up at Artix suddenly. Now was the time that she could tall him her last name. But everyone knew that the heirs of the Takenawa house were females however. Either he would not believe her, or she would have to show him that she was female. Of course, she did realize that she would have to show him at some point.

So sighing, she muttered, not looking at him directly. "They will allow you entrance if you get a recommendation from the heir to the Takenawa house." She was hesitant to tell her that she was of the Takenawa house yet. If he refused he never need know that she was not in fact, a young boy named Eon, and had lied to him. At the same time, he had been honest with her, and told her his real name. She had only lied to him, and given him her street guise. Of course, at the time she had thought that she would never see him again. Biting her thumb tip, she looked up at him from under a worried brow, wondering how he might take the information.

The beginning... Empty
PostSubject: Re: The beginning...    The beginning... EmptySat Aug 13, 2011 9:37 pm

Artix continued to stare at the huge blank walls that separated the wealthy from the poor. He had been doing a lot of thinking lately and definitely more talking than he was used to. But petitioning assistance from the Takenawa family was an interesting suggestion. The Takenawa were a family strict in codes and morals, respect and social standing. In many way's they were ruthless. Of course Artix had never before seen a member of the Takenawa household, in fact the only noble Artix had ever met was Eon. Come to think of it he didn't know which house Eon was from. He wasn't like most nobles, haughty and stuck up. If Artix had to guess then Eon would be one of the only two male members of the Kanatsuji. It wouldn't be surprising, the Kanatsuji were a house of women, undoubtedly he would end up a little feminine.

But still asking for a recomendation from one of the oldest and proudest noble families would be a wasted effort. They had no doubt heard of The Demon King and what he had done. There was no way a house so enveloped in law and order would allow such a thing. But then again, they knew only of The Demon King, they knew nothing about Artix. They didn't know that it was Artix was had been doing all of these things and it may have been a gamble but he was willing to bet that the nobles in that household were so obsessed with what went on inside they wouldn't know about what Artix looked like because he was on the outside.

Then there was Eon, a noble from a different house. What if he could use his skills as a member of the higher society to somehow persuade the Takenawa, hell why couldn't Eon just give the recomendation? Surely it would be of equal value if it came from a noble of a different house. It was worth the effort atleast. If Artix couldn't persuade the people to see him chnaged then by becoming a shinigami and protecting them he could make them see it! On top of that he could prove to everyone that no matter where a person comes from whether it's a noble house or a seventy ninth district gutter they could both achieve the same things. And if he failed then so be it. He had been given a second chance, taking it lightly and not treating it with care would be disrespect towards Eon and himself.

With a questioning look across his face Artix slowly turned back towards Eon. A small part of his still had doubt that Eon had the means to do such a thing, atleast with confidence. He might try and it was hard to tell how successful the endeavour would be. After looking Eon up and down for any tell tale signs of blind hope he spoke. His words both hopeful and doubtful at the same time.

"And you know of such a Takenawa?"
